Young World painting contest

The Puducherry leg of The Hindu Young World Painting Competition 2017-18 will be held here on Sunday.

The venue of the event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School, Primary Block, Raja Rajeshwari Street, Vandrapet, Puducherry - 605001.

The competitions will be held in the juniors (4-6) and seniors (7-9) categories. Spot registrations will be open from 8.30 am to to 9.30 am.

The event is presented by Thyrocare.

Arrow Publications is the knowledge partner, Amalorpavam HSS the venue partner, Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College and the Indbazaar, the regional partners, Grand Bakery snack partner, Hotel Tamil Park, food partner and Hotel Karai hospitality partner.

Some points participants must remember: use of sketch pens and marker pens are to be avoided; paper will be given by the organisers; the theme will be announced at the venue; and the jury’s decision will be final. The paintings become the sole property of The Hindu and will not be returned.

The prize distribution will be held shortly after the event. Every participant will receive a participation certificate.

Apart from the first, second and third prizes, there will be a number of consolation prizes too.
