‘We accept responsibility for candidate’s defeat’

Leader of the Opposition V. Vaithilingam and Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee President A.V.Subramananian on Tuesday said it was for the high command to take a decision on their resignations which were tendered owning moral responsibility of the party candidate’s defeat in elections.

Speaking to presspersons here, they jointly said, “Accepting moral responsibility for defeat of party candidate and former Union Minister for State V.Narayanasamy, we tendered our resignations and spoke to party General Secretary Mukul Wasnik. So far, the high command has not taken any decision.”

They also said that the high command would take decision on the complaint against Rajya Sabha MP P. Kannan for alleged non-participation in the campaigning.

Mr. Subramanian flayed the ruling NR Congress government for non-implementation of the provisions of the Right to Free Education Act in the State.

Highlighting that the cement price was increased by Rs.50 within a month and the issues against the public also have been increased, he said thereafter that the party would raise its voice for public cause.

Mr.Subramanian said even though Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant generated 1000 mega watt and the power situation in Tamil was stabilised, frequent power cuts were regular in Puducherry. The inefficiency of the administration was to blame, he said.
