VCK protests BJP attack on cadre

Cadres of the Puducherry unit of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) staged a dharna in front of the head post office here on Friday to condemn the alleged attack on the party cadres by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at Karur and Mayiladuthurai recently.

In Mayiladuthurai, a group of BJP workers allegedly attempted to assault some VCK cadre who were arrested for their attempt to show black flags to BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan.

The incident took place when Ms. Soundararajan had come to attend a wedding. In Karur, the BJP members exchanged blows with the VCK cadre outside a marriage hall.

Condemning both the incidents, VCK cadre led by principal secretary Deva Pozhilan demanded the arrest of BJP .

They raised slogans against Ms. Soundararajan for making derogatory remarks against VCK party president Thol. Thirumavalavan.
