UT enrolling specialist doctors on contract

The Department of Health is enrolling specialist doctors for a higher pay on contract basis as part of a move to “improve the health standards of the Union Territory.”

The consolidated remuneration of specialists has been enhanced with immediate effect, a press release said. Consequently, specialist doctors engaged on contract basis in the Health Department, Puducherry, will get approximately ₹20,000 more for serving in Puducherry and ₹10,000 more in Karaikal. Those on contract in Mahe and Yanam will receive a consolidated remuneration of ₹51,000.

The candidates who apply for the contract posts should have three years or experience in the speciality concerned after obtaining PG degree or five years of experience after obtaining PG Diploma, the department said.
