Two teenagers drowned when they were taking bath in a water body in a quarry pit near Ambur on Monday.

Moses (17), a higher secondary first year student, and Gideon (15), a student who recently wrote the SSLC exam, were among a group of students from Madhanur near Ambur taking bath at Pallikkuppam village. Gideon who did not know swimming seemed to have drifted deep into the waters. Moses gave his hand in a bid to save him, but both drowned.

Fire and Rescue Services unit from Ambur and Odugathur searched for hours and recovered the bodies. The Ambur police are investigating.
