Two held for peddling ganja

The police arrested two persons who had supplied 1,100 g of ganja which was seized from a gang in Pathukannu last week.

The accused were identified as Natarajan alias Katterumbu Natarajan (34) of Mettupalayam in Puducherry and Mohammed Faisal (38) of Malappuram district in Kerala.

Police sources said that based on a tip-off that one of the suppliers, Natarajan was in Mundiyambakkam in Villupuram district, a team nabbed him and recovered two kg of ganja from him.

Sustained interrogation by the police revealed that Natarajan had procured the contraband from the main supplier Mohammed Faisal.

The police team also arrested Faisal from Kerala and seized four kg of the contraband from him.

Both the accused have criminal records against them. Natarajan is a history sheeter and was actively involved in the supply the contraband in Villupuram district.

Natarajan is also involved in cases of robbery, house burglary, police sources added.

A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
