Get ready to slip on your dancing shoes as founder of Let the Drums Speak Concert, the internationally acclaimed Marimba player, Blessing ‘Bled’ Chimanga has some nifty tricks up his sleeve.

Blessing Chimanga and The Dreams Band, all the way from Zimbabwe, are set to perform for the ladies night special at The Storytellers’ Bar in The Promenade Hotel here on June 20.

Blessing Chimanga is a renowned musician who has travelled across the world playing to crowds, big and small. He is also a well-respected Marimba coach. His quartet performed last year at The Storytellers’ Bar to a sold-out house, where they had the audience on their feet, singing and dancing along with the band.

Unique sound

The Dreams Band of Zimbabwe’s shooting star Blessing Chimanga started as a trio five years ago and has toured the world for four years.

Their music is marked by a unique and pure African sound created out of Chimanga’s virtuous marimba playing, lead vocals and energetic entertainer talent while Elisha Zimbeva (keys and mbira), Igiel Njolomah (bass) and Tulani Kuwani (sax and guitar) keep the heavy pulsating rhythm together with Blessing Muparutsa (drums and perc).
