Industry experts call for a rethink on business model

Industry and technology experts have called for a rethink on the business model in a digital landscape.

Speakers at Synapse’17, the flagship industry-institute interface hosted by the Department of Management Studies, Pondicherry University, stressed the importance of a new approach and the need for introducing disruptive strategies to retain core competitive advantage in a digitalised, diversified world.

The theme of the two-day event, which attracted corporate executives from various industries, was “digitalisation, disruption and diversification’.

V. Vijayakumar, former Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, inaugurated the event.

Magazine released

A. Balasubramanian, former Director, EMRC, University of Mysore, delivered special address. G. Anjaneyaswamy, Dean School of Management, Jayasankaran, former Vice-Chancellor, Kanchi University, released Synapse’17 magazine “Impressions”.

Ganesh Margabandu from IBM, Bengaluru; Ananth Subramanian from Digipropel Corporation, U.S.; and Hari Iyer from Natruk, Bengaluru; Chitra Sivasubramanian, Head, Department of Management Studies; and S. Hariharan, faculty, participated.

Synapse 2017 featured six panel sessions and one plenary on “business education” with hand picked panellists from among CEOs, VPs, founders, and directors from top corporate organisations.

The event witnessed a knowledge transfer and experience sharing from 32 panelists to 240 aspiring management graduates.
