Software firm aims at achieving gender parity in Puducherry

A corporate has set itself the grand goal of achieving gender parity within the organisation.

Software company Integra, which has been running Shakti Oli, a women empowerment group, has committed itself to attaining gender parity in five years.

The mission statement came from company founder-CEO Sriram Subramanya, who promised to achieve gender parity in the mid and senior levels of the company management during the sixth anniversary celebrations of the Shakti Oli initiative.

Daisy Michael, vice-president, International Operations and Quality, also said that the focus area for Shakti Oli in the next few years would be to increase the representation of women employees across all levels in the company.

Kirstin Heilmann, Head of Supplier Management, advocated eliminating any barrier that currently stood in the way of achieving gender parity in the company’s organisational structure, especially in its upper echelons.

The event also had a host of home-grown and international entrepreneurs such as Anu Sriram, Joint Managing Director of Integra, Phil Reimann, International Production Manager, and Genevieve Early – Global Production Director, Taylor & Francis Journals, sharing their motivational thoughts.

Apart from the coveted Women Icon Award, several prizes were given to meritorious women employees.
