SMVEC team wins software testing contest

J. Shyam Suganth and S. Thamarai Selvam from Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College (SMVEC) here won the top prize at TESTimony, a software testing contest held by the Tata Consultancy Services Talent Acquisition Team in association with Assurance Services Unit. The contest is held across TCS-accredited institutes in India.

Over 86,000 students from 10 regions in the country participated in the contest. At the grand finale in Pune, as many as 10 teams were shortlisted, of which three teams from SMVEC, KIIT Bhubaneswar and CSPIT, Gujarat won the first three prizes respectively. Shyam Suganth and Thamarai Selvam won an iPad pro, Motorola Smart watch and were also given job offers from TCS.

A release said TESTimony is an attempt to lay a strong foundation for students in this space, helping them jumpstart their career in software testing.
