Yogamaya Acharya, president of Neyveli Ladies Club, has been conferred the Shrikshetra Samman for her stellar contributions to social and community welfare works, specifically for women empowerment, education and care of underprivileged children and rural poor.
The award, instituted by the Shree Shrikshetra Soochana, was presented to her by Damodar Rout, Minister for Agriculuture and Fisheries, Government of Odisha during the recent Krishi Mela in Puri. A. V. Swamy, Rajya Sabha MP, S. K. Pattanayak, Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Kulmani Biswal, Director (Finance) NTPC Ltd., New Delhi and Jitendra Haripal, folk singer also participated. Hailing from Puri, Odisha, Ms. Acharya, spouse of NLC India CMD S. K. Acharya, also leads the Sneha Opportunity Services.
