Sensitising sports training coaches to HIV in Puducherry

Around 36 training coaches from the Puducherry and Karaikal regions were sensitised to Sexually Transmitted Infection, Reproductive Tract Infection and HIV/ AIDS by a training specialist.

A sensitisation training programme on HIV/ AIDS for the training coaches of the Puducherry State Sports Council, Training Centre of Sports Authority of India and Rajiv Gandhi School of Sports was organised by the Pondicherry AIDS Control Society on Tuesday.

Around 36 training coaches from the Puducherry and Karaikal regions were sensitised to Sexually Transmitted Infection, Reproductive Tract Infection and HIV/ AIDS by G. Arul Prasath, training specialist.

Roseline, Vihaan counsellor, explained issues related to PLHIVs (People Living with HIV / AIDS) and activities of Vihaan CSC (Care Support Centre).

M. Krishnamurthy, deputy director (Information, Education and Communication), has requested sports authorities to integrate IEC in their sports activities.

S. Settouramane, assistant director, spoke about the mainstreaming activities carried out in Puducherry and the need for MoUs in partnership activities.
