Volunteers of the Puducherry Deaf Society on Sunday took out a rally to press for various demands in connection with observance of International Week of the Deaf.

The rally along Promenade Beach urged government to provide blue-tinted driving licences to the deaf so that they could drive vehicles fitted with larger rear-view mirrors as was done by several other countries. The Association also sought one per cent reservation in higher education and jobs and also wanted the government to facilitate enrolment in degree courses.
