May 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:54 am IST - PUDUCHERRY:

Teachers and staff of Pondicherry University on Saturday observed a fast demanding the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to remove the Vice-Chancellor Chandra Krishnamuthy from the post. They also alleged that she lacked the bare minimum competence for holding the high office. In continuation of their agitations, they sat in front of Head Post Office on Saturday and shouted slogans against the Vice-Chancellor and the MHRD.

N. Dastagiri Reddy, General Secretary of Pondicherry University Teachers Association (PUTA) said, “We have complained several times against Dr. Chandra Krishnamurthy to the MHRD, Prime Minister’s office and the President of India and several other relevant authorities. A fact-finding committee submitted its report two months ago to MHRD. So far there was no sign of action on part of the MHRD.”
