Employees of Puducherry Industrial Promotion, Development and Investment Corporation on Monday staged a sit-in protest inside the premises protesting the alleged ill-treatment meted out to a Senior Manager by daily wage workers in the corporation.

Demanding protection to the regular employees, they refused to attend work .

The employees alleged that a senior manager was manhandled by daily wage workers on Saturday over disbursement of Deepavali bonus. The employees, who had worked for the last nine months, were given a bonus of Rs. 8,250. However, they demanded that the management provide them a bonus of Rs.15,000 on a par with the regular employees and manhandled the senior manager.
