January 06, 2018 11:50 pm | Updated 11:50 pm IST - PUDUCHERRY

Former AIADMK legislator Om Sakthi Sekar has urged Senior Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) Rajiv Ranjan to provide security to the bus crew who have been roped in to operate the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) buses from Puducherry to various destinations in the neighbouring State.

In a statement, Mr. Sekar said the Madras High Court had directed the striking employees to return to work immediately.

Workers blocked

However, one section of workers was preventing the bus crew from operating the TNSTC buses parked at the Puducherry depot.

The police should provide protection to them, Mr. Sekar added.
