Promoting products made by BCs

The Puducherry Backward Classes and Minorities Development Corporation will hold an exhibition-cum-sales mela from April 24 to May 24 to showcase the products made by beneficiaries of various corporations.

Welfare Minister P. Rajavelu said that the exhibition was being held for the third year in succession for marketing the products of the beneficiaries who had availed themselves of loan from the Puducherry Backward Classes and Minorities Development Corporation, Puducherry Adi-dravidar Development Corporation , Puducherry Khadi and Village Industries Board, District Rural Development Agency and Puducherry Corporation for Development of Women and Handicapped Persons Limited.

Household articles, educational aid, fancy items, handicrafts, paintings, statues/idols, terracotta items and products from various States would be on display.

The total sale proceeds were Rs. 1 crore at the exhibition held last year and the target has been fixed at Rs. 2 crore this year. The exhibition would be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
