The Confederation of Private Schools Staff Association on Saturday said they would stage a demonstration if the government failed to disburse salary arrears pending for the last five months.
P.A. Vincent Raj, president of the Confederation, in a press statement said that the government has not provided salary for the past five months to the teachers and staff working in government-aided schools. He added that the Director, Directorate of School Education, has issued an order to deploy teachers from schools with more number of teachers to other private schools where the strength of the students is higher. “There are no clear directions on how they would accommodate the teachers and what will happen to those who have served in those schools for a long period without regularising their service,” he said.
The Confederation urged that the order be withdrawn. The government has not appointed any teachers for the vacant posts in 34 schools.
