Power supply will be disrupted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. in many areas of the city on Saturday. This is because of maintenance work on the 110 kV Villianur-Kalapet feeder.
The affected areas are Pillaichavady, Chinnakalapet, Periyakalapet, Kanagachettykulam, PIMS Hospital, Tsunami Quarters, Central Jail, Pondicherry University, Pondicherry Engineering College, Alankuppam, Sanjeevi Nagar and areas around the sewage treatment plant.
The Electricity department has reiterated it appeal to consumers to register their mobile numbers with the respective Operation and Maintenance office for receiving text message alerts on power disruption in their neighbourhood.
