An election flying squad on Wednesday seized as many as 210 pressure cookers and 419 tawas from the office of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (Intuc) here on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Ramachandraya conducted a raid at the Intuc office on Saint Therese Street and seized the cookers and tawas which were stored on the premises.

The flying squad seized the cookers and tawas worth Rs.3.23 lakh after the office bearers did not possess any proper documents such as bills for the goods. An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain whether the goods were meant for distribution to influence voters.
