Police warn of action against those damaging barricades

As part of the ‘Safe and Clean,’ Puducherry campaign, the Traffic Police have initiated a plan to paint barricades in bright yellow colour and fix them with reflective tapes.

Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi has launched the programme by painting the barricades put up on Nehru Street. Enthused by the participation of Ms. Bedi, many tourists and children joined the Lieutenant Governor to paint the barricades.

In a release, the traffic police said the force had outlined a plan to clean all the barricades so to make it visible to road users.

Stern action would be initiated against those found pasting stickers and notices on police barricades. Inspector General of Police Kannan Jegadesan, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Ranjan, Superintendent of Police Pravin Tripathy, Superintendent of Police, Traffic, Balakrishnan, Venkatasamy, Superintendent of Police, East and Inspector Maran participated the inaugural function.
