A sense of tension filled the air across the various examination centres in Puducherry and Karaikal. Students sat outside the exam hall nervously discussing the answers to the most important questions. Every year, these centres see thousands of students writing their Class X examinations. This year too was no different.
After the exam, many students breathed a sigh of relief, deeming the paper as “easy.”
“Even when compared to last year’s paper that we did as a practice exam, this year’s paper was easy. I managed to finish an hour ahead of time,” Nivetha from Holy Flower School, Nettapakkam, who appeared for the Tamil paper said. Buvaneshwari from Amalorpavan Higher Secondary School was confident about the French paper. “Most of my classmates are expecting full marks.
Some of the true or false and single mark questions were a bit confusing, but we managed to get the answers right,” she said.
Chittaranjan from the Seventh Day Adventist School who appeared for the Hindi stream was a bit apprehensive. “Even though the paper was easy, I expect only around 80 per cent”.
As for Sanskrit, Gayathri of Sankara Vidyalaya said, prose was included in the combined question instead of poetry. But still the paper as such was very easy. “I think most of us would score over 90 per cent.” From Puducherry, 15530 students from 225 schools and 2973 students from 54 schools in Karaikal registered to write the exams, Education Director E. Vallavan said. As many as 15 visually impaired students from Puducherry wrote the exam with the help of a scribe.
