The Communist Party of India on Friday expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of investigation into the murder of veteran CPI leader Govind Pansare of Maharashtra, who was killed recently by unknown assailants.

Addressing presspersons here, CPI National Council Secretary Shameem Faizee said the late leader was the first victim to right wing forces after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister.

The veteran CPI leader’s daughter and Maharashtra CPI State Executive Member Smita Govind Pansare also expressed dissatisfaction over the pace of investigation into the murder of her father. “More than one and half month passed since the occurrence of murder. Even the Chief Minister of Maharashtra had given an assurance that the culprits would be nabbed. There has been no action so far. The question is who was behind the murder,” she said. — Special Correspondent
