Painter held for abusing 6-year-old girl

A 30-year-old painter was arrested by Thavalakuppam police for abusing a six-year-old girl on Sunday. Suman alias Prakash, a resident of Abishegapakkam, had taken the child who lives in the same locality to his house last month and physically abused her.

When he came to the child’s house few days back to take her again, she started crying. After talking to the child, the parents found out that he had abused her.

They filed a complaint at the Thavalakuppam police station. The police have registered a case under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Vidyaa Ramkumar said that the child has been sent to hospital for medical examination and will be brought to the CWC on Monday.
