NLC India Ltd. on Monday organised a function to felicitate deputy manager, township administration R. Ramachandran who won the runner-up trophy in the All India Public Sector Cultural Competition.

Mr. Ramanchandran won the second prize among several competitors from 14 public sector undertakings.

Chairman and managing director of NLCIL Sarat Kumar Acharya complimented the artist for his commendable performance at the competition held last week at Amritsar in Punjab, NLCIL said in a press release.

Mr. Ramachandran mastered the art of playing mridangam at the age of 10. He has won several awards, including All India Award in Carnatic Music-Instrumental Mrudangam award. He had the opportunity to stage a performance at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He is a high graded artist by All India Radio Music Board and had teemed up with many proficient Carnatic music maestros, the release said.

R. Vikraman, director, human resource; and R. Mohan, chief general manager, corporate social responsibility, were present.
