NLCI celebrates Women’s Day

Educated women urged to raise their voice against abuse

The Neyveli chapter of the forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) of NLC India celebrated International Women’s Day at the Learning and Development Centre in Neyveli on Thursday.

Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, chairman-cum-managing director of NLCI, said that women played a vital role in propelling the socio-economic growth of the country. He congratulated NLCI woman employees for bagging the Best Enterprise award for 2016.

Dr. Rachana Singh, Superintendent of Police (North), Puducherry, urged women to raise their voice against abuse, discrimination, violence, cyber crime and social injustice. She said that educated women should raise their voice against violence.

Yogamaya Acharya, president, Neyveli Ladies Club and Sneha Opportunity Services, Neyveli, released the souvenir on “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step it up for Equality” on the occasion.

Functional Directors of NLCI Rakesh Kumar, V. Thangapandian, and P. Selvakumar, were present.
