NLC to support science centre project

National Science Day Celebrations held

The Neyveli Lignite Corporation will support the Tamil Nadu Science Forum to set up a “science centre” at Neyveli if the later creates an atmosphere that would promote research activities among the student community, said B.Surender Mohan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the NLC.

He was speaking at the National Science Day celebrations held at Neyveli near here recently. The Chairman said that the country had attained commendable scientific developments and achievements.

The Green, White and Blue revolutions had transformed the growth scenario, signifying the scientific possibilities. He pointed out that quite a number of students from the Neyveli schools had joined the premier educational institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology.

He hoped that as a next step such of those meritorious students would take up research pursuits. On the occasion the Chairman gave away prizes to winners of various competitions conducted by the Forum.
