NLC India observes World Forestry Day

Saplings planted in mines, townships

Officials and staff of Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Ltd (NLCI) undertook planting of saplings to mark World Forestry Day celebrations recently.

R. Vikraman, Director (HR), NLC, planted a sapling near Arch Gate in the township area. Later, sapling plantations were carried out in mines, reclaimed areas and across the township.

This year, the World Forest Day is being observed on the theme ‘Forests & Energy’. In this regard, a pledge in Tamil, Hindi and English was taken by all employees. Mr. Vikraman administered the nature conservation pledge in Tamil.

M. Karthikeyan, general manager, and other officials from Township administration and the Department and Horticulture Department were present.
