The Neyveli Lignite Corporation would earmark a sum of Rs. 41 crore for the current fiscal 2014-2015 for taking up various programmes under the head of Corporate Social Responsibility for improving the means of livelihood of the people and the infrastructure in the peripheral areas.
NLC Chairman-cum-Managing Director B. Surender Mohan made this announcement while inaugurating the training programme for men and women in the operation of the light motor vehicles, heavy motor vehicles and the earth moving equipment here recently. The training would go on for two months.
On the occasion, the Chairman distributed certificates to 25 men and 30 women who already underwent similar training.
NLC Chief General Manager (Human Relations) N. Muthu said that it was proposed to train 225 men and 200 women in 2014—2015.
