NLC bags award for industrial relations

Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) has bagged the ‘National Award for Outstanding Industrial Relations’ for the year 2014-15 instituted by the All India Organisation of Employers (AIOE), an allied body of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Bandaru Dattatreya, Minister of Labour & Employment, Government of India, presented this award to NLC which was received by Thiagaraju, GM/HR, NLC here on Monday.

AIOE is an allied body of FICCI which has been serving the cause of Indian enterprises by promoting sound industrial relations and better understanding between employers and workers on the mutuality of interest.

According to AIOE, this award is awarded to the companies, who have given innovative approaches to foster harmonious industrial relations through bipartite mechanism, reducing conflicts, loss of mandays, promoting employers' welfare and development avenues, contributing to higher motivation, moral and productivity improvement.

As part of the competition, NLC competed with the 20 organisations (private and public Sector) in the south zone and was short listed for final presentation.

The final national level presentation round was held on May 9 with ten finalists and NLC was declared first runner-up for the award.
