New Chairman for Puducherry Waqf Board

V.P.Abdul Rahman has been selected as Chairman of Puducherry State Waqf Board.

According to a press release from S.Sundara Vadivelu, Election officer and Chief Executive Offier of State Waqf Board, Mr. Rahman secured more votes than his rival candidate U.Bashrudeen in the poll conducted on June 26.

Hailing from Mahe, Mr. Rahman is a lawyer by profession.

He was the State president of National Students’ Union of India from 1994 to 2000.

Mr. Rahman is currently the secretary of Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee.
