Cadets honed their shooting skills at the combined annual National Cadet Corps 10-day training camp held at the NCC Headquarters, Lawspet, which began on July 21.
Around 250 cadets from the Air and Naval Wings from Tagore Arts College, Bharathidasan Government College for Women, Pondicherry University, Pondicherry Engineering College, Petit Seminaire Higher Secondary School, Veeramamunivar High School and Thavalakuppam Government Higher Secondary School participated.
Cadets were trained in drill, aero modelling, ship modelling, power flying, boat pulling, skeet firing, range firing and theory classes on aircraft.
Twenty-five cadets who were selected were trained for the inter-group competition near Erode, which will be held from August 3 to August 13.
Cadets will later proceed for the directorate and national level if they qualify, said NCC Officer, P.T. Xavier.
The camp was held under the leadership of Commander Sanjay Nethekar and Wing Commander Bargunan. A camp fire and valedictory function was held on Tuesday which the cadets enjoyed, he added.
Col. S.K. Nair was the chief guest.
Arrangements for the camp, which ends on July 30, was made by NCC Officers Humayun, Lydia, Xavier, Mani and Kamalan, said Mr. Xavier.
