The 22{+n}{+d}Congress of the Communist Party of India (CPI) will be held from March 25. The party congress will conclude on March 29 with a mass rally and a public meeting. The congress of the CPI is held every third year.
Addressing reporters here, CPI Puducherry Unit Secretary R. Viswanathan said the congress would have discussions on political and organisational issues. About 1,000 delegates including elected representatives and national council members from several parts of the country are likely to participate.
A day ahead of the congress, the national council meeting will be held here and the congress will commence with unfurling of the party flag by National Secretary A.B.Bardhan. The inaugural session will be attended by General Secretaries of Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPIM), CPI (ML), Forward Bloc, RSP and SUCI (Communist).
