The Bengaluru-based band ‘KA-19’ known for their old school retro and pop music will be performing at The Storytellers’ Bar on Friday, to mark a busy weekend for culture aficionados. The duo, Kishan Hebbar and Austyn Goveas, originally from Mangalapuram formed the band, ‘KA-19’, several years ago after quitting their jobs as lawyers to pursue music as their careers.

Since then the band has aimed to centre stage retro music in what is increasingly a fast-paced world, while also giving a nod to the world of contemporary pop with a twist. As part of their trio act, Puneet Shankar will be performing along the band.

Last year, the band performed over 80 shows in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Wayanad, Mysore, Mangalore, Udaipur and Goa. ‘KA-19’ will be latest Indie pop band to perform for the Friday Night Live Gig that has encouraged new talent from all over the world, be it local artistes to perform on stage including musicians, poets, filmmakers, standup comedians etc. The show is scheduled at The Storytellers’ Bar, The Promenade Hotel, at 8 p.m. Doors swing open a couple of hours earlier.

On April 25, (Wednesday), Alliance Francaise provides the platform for an exhibition, ‘Faces’ by Trishna Patnaik at Maison Colombani from 7 p.m. According to the artist, “I have created some paintings using various mediums and several expressions keeping faces as a concept’. The show is on till April 29.
