The local unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday staged a demonstration in front of the Head Post Office on Rangapillai Street to protest against the alleged irregularities in medical admission.

Addressing party workers, BJP State unit president V. The party had apprised Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about irregularities in Centac admission to deemed universities and self-financing private medical colleges. The party demanded action against Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy and Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao in the admission issue. K.G. Shankar and S. Selvaganapathy, nominated MLAs, were present.
