Man robbed of cash, jewels in Vellore

Two unidentified persons riding a motorcycle snatched a bag containing gold jewels and a sum of Rs. 3 lakh from a jewellery shop employee on Melpatti Road in Gudiyatham on Monday night.

According to police, R. Srinivasan (41), employee of a jewellery shop on Abdul Azeez Street in Gudiyatham, was going home from the shop on his motorcycle when the culprits rode very closely to his bike.

When Srinivasan panicked and stopped his bike, they snatched the bag placed on the petrol tank and fled. Police have registered a complaint.
