Long-pending grievancesPeople from different walks of life sought the support of the Lt. Governor to redress a host of long-pending grievances.
According to a press note from the Raj Nivas, if anything, these virtual Open House sessions brought to fore the fact that the Directorates at the Head Quarters in Puducherry will have to devote more attention to the outlying regions, especially for resolving grievances related to service matters.
Filling of vacanciesThe Lt. Governor has identified as a priority, the filling up of vacancies in the outlying regions, particularly in the School Education, as well as Higher Education.
Besides, in the case of compassionate appointments being processed at the Head Quarters, the applicants do not have a system to learn the progress from the regional offices concerned.
Ms. Bedi has directed implementing of a system that will provide feedback to the applicants.
Certain complaints were received from the public of Yanam with regard to issuing of ration cards/Voter ID cards and excess menial staff in certain institutions, which the Regional Administrator Yanam has been asked to enquire and submit a report.
