Newly sworn-in Chief Minister V.Narayanasamy on Monday said his government shared a cordial relationship with Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, who assumed charge recently.

Addressing reporters here, Mr. Narayanasamy said, “The Lieutenant Governor has been very cordial with us. We are also cordial with her. You [the media] don’t create any problems between us.”

Thanking the Lt. Governor, who was on the same page as the government on making Puducherry prosperous, Mr. Narayanasamy said,

“I hope that the full support of L-G will be available to the government which was elected by people. Since her wish and our wish are the same, we will approach the Central government together and take steps to make Puducherry prosperous,” said Mr. Narayanasamy.

Responding to a query on the Lieutenant Governor’s instruction on the usage of siren on the cars of VIPs, the Chief Minister said, “I cannot say anything now since I have to discuss with my colleagues.

However, it is my individual decision that I will not use my official car. I will leave it to them [Cabinet colleagues].

Downplaying the absence of Congress MLA K. Lakshminarayanan during the swearing-in ceremony, Mr. Narayanasamy said he was not available because of personal reasons.

“We are all united and will be working together. It is our to aim to gain the confidence of people.”
