Three laptops which were kept in the office room of the Panchayat Union Middle School at Pethanur in Kallakurichi block in Villupuram district have been reported to be stolen.

In a complaint lodged with the police, the school headmaster, Annadurai, said that since he had gone for a three-day training programme, he left the keys of the school with teacher Periyasamy.

The latter locked the school and its office two days ago.

However, when Mr Annadurai came back to open the school, he found the locks of the office room tampered with and the three laptops kept inside missing.

The Chinna Salem police have registered a case.
