Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Kiran Bedi should stay within her limits and not interfere in the functioning of Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Vaiko said here on Tuesday.

Addressing reporters at the Coimbatore airport, he said Ms. Bedi would do well to not transgress her limits and let the government function.

The imposition of GST on July 1 would affect the textile industry in Karur and fireworks industry in Sivakasi. There was a threat of five lakh workers losing employment. The Centre should reduce the tax on fireworks by lowering the slab from 28 % to 5 %, he said.

Mr. Vaiko wanted the DMK’s Labour Progressive Front to vacate the office it was occupying even after a court verdict in favour of his party’s Marumalarchi Labour Front.
