: Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Thursday met President Pranab Mukherjee during her visit to Delhi. Sources said that it was a courtesy call. The President gifted Ms. Bedi a copy of the Constitution of India.
The Lt. Governor also called on the Vice-president Mohammad Hamid Ansari.
A release said Ms. Bedi also called on Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and discussed pending issues concerning the Puducherry health department.
Common Service Centres
She also called on Union Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad who assured his support in setting up Common Service Centres in the UT for digital delivery of a range of services in villages.
During her meeting with Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar, Ms. Bedi requested him to favourably consider Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy’s request to set up an IIM in Puducherry.
The Lt. Governor also sought expeditious appointment for the vacant positions in Pondicherry University including the post of Vice-Chancellor.
