Jipmer’s art expo under way

Over 500 original creations on display at three-day event

The second edition of the open art exhibition and competition hosted by Jipmer is under way at the academic centre on campus.

This year, the exhibition has an overwhelming response of over 500 original creations with participation from all age groups from Puducherry and Tamil Nadu,a Jipmer press note said.

The three-day exhibition, which showcases the artistic side of the medical fraternity and also features entries from the public was inaugurated by Jipmer Director S. C. Parija.

The exhibits portray a variety of media such as oil, acrylic, water color, sketching, pen and pencil, mixed media, pot painting, collage and photography.

The exhibition is open for public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Jipmer had designated a team led by Sarasu. J, Additional Professor, Anatomy, to host the visual treat.

The best art work will be honoured at an award ceremony slated for 5.30 p.m. on Saturday.
