Jipmer signs MoU with New Zealand varsity

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Otago, New Zealand, for stem cell and molecular research, said a release from the institute.

The primary objective of the MoU is isolation and culture of stem cells and assessment of therapeutic efficacy of stem cells in diabetes, hypertension and coronary artery disease, it said.

The effects of yoga on regeneration of cardiac stem cells will also be studied under the MoU, said the release.
