Jipmer entrance examination for admission to its MBBS course July 2016 session was held on Sunday across India at 270 test venues spread in 75 cities across the country.
The examination was held in two shifts (morning and afternoon). There are nine test venues in and around Puducherry.
A total of 1,55,193 students had applied for this Entrance Examination. The overall attendance for centres across the country was about 70 per cent. In Puducherry, 90 per cent of the 3098 students who registered appeared.
While 59017 candidates of the 82019 registrants for the morning session took the test, 49,537 of the 73178 students who registered appeared for the second session. The number of seats to be filled for MBBS course is 200 for the year 2016; 150 of them will be selected for Jipmer Campus at Puducherry and the 50 seats for Karaikal campus as per their merit order. The expected date of declaration of result is June 13. The counselling for seats is scheduled on June 20, 21 and 22.
