Top officials monitor the situation on the first day of counselling

The counselling process for the combined 200 MBBS seats at Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer), including the 50 vacancies at its offshore campus in Karaikal, began here on Wednesday.

Top officials of the institute, including its director S.C. Parija, medical upserintendent J.Balachander and Dean of Academics R.P. Swaminathan supervised the first day counselling.

The entrance examination for Jipmer MBBS Admission 2017-18 was held on June 4 and the results were declared on June 8.

Counselling for STs

During the counselling on Wednesday, candidates belonging to UR Category and OPH category were called up to the rank of 650.

The verification of certificates of the candidates was done and seats were filled according to the ranks.

A Jipmer pressnote said that counselling for OBC/SC/ST will be held on June 29 and for Puducherry – UR/OBC/SC & NRI/OCI categories on June 30.
