Jayalalithaa campaign today in Cuddalore, Villupuram

The AIADMK has fielded A. Arunmozhithevan for the Cuddalore seat and S.Rajendran for the Villupuram seat.

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa will campaign for her party candidates in the Cuddalore and Villupuram Parliamentary constituencies on Sunday.

She will first address a public meeting at Manjakuppam grounds in Cuddalore in the afternoon and leave for Villupuram. She is scheduled to address a meeting in front of the Aavin dairy there.

The AIADMK has fielded A. Arunmozhithevan for the Cuddalore seat and S.Rajendran for the Villupuram seat. As many as 1,000 police personnel have been posted on security duty at these venues.

Superintendents of Police A. Radhika (Cuddalore) and S. Manoharan (Villupuram) told this correspondent that besides deploying local police, personnel from neighbouring districts had also been requisitioned for security duty. Anti-sabotage checks were carried out at the helipads and the dais.

New roads have been laid from the helipads to the meeting venues to facility smooth flow of the Chief Minister’s convoy. General secretary of the Federation of Cuddalore Residents’ Welfare Associations M. Maruthavanan said that a group of Ministers had descended on Cuddalore town to oversee the arrangements for the public meeting.
