Setting off ripples in political circles, six MLAs including Government Whip G.Nehru on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Assembly Speaker V.Sabapathy alleging irregularities in the transfer of teachers.

Mr. Nehru and other MLAs of ruling party - M.Vaithianathan, Parliamentary Secretary to Chief Minister, P.M.L.Kalyanasundaram, Ashok Anand, P.Karthikeyan besides AIADMK MLA A.Baskar entered the chamber of Speaker about 5 p.m.

Addressing mediapersons inside the chamber, Mr. Nehru and other MLAs raised serious allegations of irregularities in the transfer of about 200 teachers. These transfers, Mr. Nehru claimed, were effected without following any guidelines even as the School Education Director “ignored their recommendations”. Later Chief Minister N.Rangasamy held talks with them and assured them of following due process in the transfers.
