Chief Secretary Manoj Parida has said that as Chief Vigilance Officer, he was accountable to the Union government and the Central Vigilance Commission.
“Even allegations against political functionaries and political appointees will be inquired by me, and hence, on vigilance matters, I am answerable to the Centre and the Commission,” he told The Hindu . On the reporting hierarchy in the Union Territory, Mr. Parida clarified that “all reporting to the Lt. Governor had to be done through the Chief Minister as per clearly laid down rules.”
