Heavy rain in Puducherry

May 18, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 12, 2016 02:10 pm IST - PUDUCHERRY:

Rain lashed various parts of Puducherry on Tuesday under the impact of a low-pressure area.

The incessant rain forced residents to stay indoors while vehicles users struggled to navigate through arterial roads. According to Indian Meteorological Department, the well-marked low pressure area lay centred in the Southeast Bay of Bengal about 240 km from Chennai.

The system is likely to move north-northwestwards during the next 12 hours and northwards thereafter along north Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coast.
