The Cuddalore police have detained a history-sheeter, who was involved in a series of motorcycle theft cases, under the Goondas Act on Thursday. M. Senthil, 35, of Periyar Nagar in Thittakudi was arrested when he attempted to rob a man in Thittakudi last week.
Senthil was reportedly involved in a series of motorcycle theft in Thittakudi and Pennadam in Cuddalore district and Mangalamedu in Perambalur district. Six motorcycles were recovered from him.
District Collector Prashant M. Wadnere ordered the detention of Senthil under the Goondas Act.
